ESC. EUGENIO NAZARIO SOTO

Letter from Principal Dra. María L. Fernández

Eugenio Nazario Soto Elementary School is located in Cuyón ward in the town of Coamo. It serves 192 students between Kindergarten and eight grade. Our school is populated by areas surrounding our town. According to the socioeconomic survey conducted, 88% of our students are below the poverty level. Forty percent of our students qualify for Special Education. We have  adequate physical facilities and have highly qualified teachers and staff, well prepared in each of their areas of function. After conducting a careful review of our needs, we found that our school does not have appropriate technology which places us at a significant disadvantage in education. We appreciate all the help you can provide. May the Lord repay you. We have been without electricity for 115 days. For this reason we have a special schedule. Hurricane María affected us and our families. The most important thing is that we are alive. God bless.
